Anyway, when I open the converted instrument files in Kontakt it maps out great and the Sync/Slice editor is f-ing brilliant at tempo-matching all the drum loops to the Cubase midi tempo.Īll-in-all this is awesome and the amount of instruments that come with Komplete is also awesome. I have now translated most of my Akai & EMU CD library into the Kontakt 4.1 format with Translator on the mac (the PC version of Translator is crap, it crashed over & over). Then I tested the free Kontakt Player download and it ended up working great. 4 Sample CD AKAI S1000 format - SPECIAL PRICE. I tested a few freeware soft samplers but couldn't get anything to work that didn't require rebuilding & remapping from the raw samples. I downloaded the new version on my macbook and started to look for something to migrate too. While going through my stack of sample CD's I found an install disc of an old copy of Chicken System's Translator. Plus I've switched to the Mac for all my music production these days and X3 is Windows only. But it is long out of production and at some point will most likely stop working. It worked great and imported all of my Akai library. I had been using EMU's Emulator X3 software sampler in Windows for the past 5 years. I've been searching for a way to save my Akai/EMU sample library (which is all on the original CD-Roms in either S1000 or E4 format). I just purchased Komplete 10 and couldn't be happier.
